Guide To Horoscopes

Horoscopes and Astrology

Astrology is the earliest science known to man. Not surprisingly, the study of the Sun, Moon and planets and their relationship to humans have intrigued the world for thousands of years. Wars and marriages, births and celebrations have been planned during specific planetary positions to ensure successful endeavours and to prevent failure. The correct interpretation of a horoscope can be vitally important. Scores of famous people, educated and well versed people, rely on professional horoscope reading to chart their course for the year. They realize that the continual movement of celestial bodies affects each person’s life in a different way at any given time. A professional horoscope interpreter knows how to distinguish between the daily planetary changes and the normal natural life cycles.

Finding a sun sign is as easy as knowing your birthday but the subtle differences in calculating specific characteristics depend on the time of birth, the position of the planets and a host of other factors. Because astrology is a science, to perform it correctly requires the knowledge and expertise of someone who devotes their entire career to horoscope charting. The variations within each sun sign are unique to each individual and vary constantly.

For instance, many people look at a horoscope listing and find their sun sign based on their birthday. That is okay if you happen to fall within the middle range of the sign. But what about someone whose birthday is on the edge of two signs? These cusp periods change each year and only a professional astrologer can predict readings by evaluating the yearly differences. Behaviour patterns for someone born in the cusp period can vary greatly from that of a person born during the middle days of the sun sign. Add the time of birth and the place of birth and the horoscope chart becomes complex.

A horoscope can tell you many things. We’re all curious about our own behaviour and character traits and of, course, those close to us. We like to know who we’re most compatible with, for romance or possibly for a business transaction. Maybe we’re waiting for just the right moment to propose or to approach the boss for a raise. Or maybe we’re feeling a little down at certain times or have more energy lately. Using a horoscope chart and readings to predict the best timing for our daily events is an accurate tool that helps us understand more about our world and our personal behaviour.

The structure of astrology is based on four elements: air, water, earth and fire. Personality trends lie within each of these categories and the twelve sun signs are subdivisions of the basic elements. The sun signs (also known as star signs or birth signs) are named from the constellations that actively appear in the sky during the birth time and birth location. Each sign differs due to the position of the three deciding factors: the Sun, the Moon and the planets.

A Horoscope for Everyone

Someone born within a sun sign will tend to show many of these general characteristics. But the more specific traits and predictable behaviour trends must also consider the position of the Sun (the Rising Sign) and the Moon at the time of birth. A true horoscope charting, prepared by a professional, takes all of these factors into account and develops an accurate reading for each individual. The birth signs are further defined by three modes: Fixed (Aquarius, Leo and Taurus), Mutable (Gemini, Sagittarius and Virgo) and Cardinal (Libra, Capricorn and Aries). The combination of all these elements creates you: a unique individual.

We all want to be around other people who complement our personality and make us feel terrific. We certainly want compatibility with our life partner. In a general sense, sun signs within each element, air, water, earth and fire tend to be compatible with each other. But we can also be happily involved with other sign elements and a variety of factors form that basis. Saying that opposites attract can certainly be true with sun signs. For example, a person born under Pisces may feel a natural magnetism toward a Virgo person, someone born in an opposing position. A professional astrologer looks at the entire reading between two individuals and creates a map of compatibility.

When we ask to have a horoscope chart prepared for us, we’re asking for a detailed analysis of position of the Sun, the Moon and the planets at the time of our birth. The exact time to the minute and the place of our birth affects our natal chart and makes a significant difference in predicting our personality traits and behaviour patterns. The horoscope chart is a map of our own personal data as it relates to our world within any specific moment. Correctly interpreting and predicting a horoscope takes many factors into account and the result is an accurate chart of each person.

Horoscope predictions must consider planetary movements and the continual changes that occur in our universe. A professional astrologer keeps an account of these changes on a daily, weekly and yearly basis and uses their knowledge and expertise to create an accurate prediction. The study of astrology is a dynamic science, ever changing and never static. Just as the earth continually rotates in our universe, the forces that draw us to our world continue to move and rearrange themselves as we adapt to that movement. Knowing what changes may affect us personally is the reason we seek advice and choose to have a horoscope prepared.
Since man began looking to the stars for direction, the study of astrology has become a method to answer many questions about our lives as humans. Scientists methodically developed maps and charts, compared behaviour patterns of individuals and groups within certain time periods and eventually were able to predict events based on the knowledge that they acquired. Fascinating predictions from astrological chart reading have occurred over the centuries.

Today, this ancient science continues to intrigue us. We want to know who might be our best life partner. We’re curious about why lucky or unlucky events seem to be coming our way and how to work around them. We want to know what we might expect to experience in the future: should we consider changing our jobs, investing in new markets, expanding our circle of friends? All types of questions enter our minds each day. Of course we can’t expect that a horoscope prediction will be the only answer to our many questions about our lives. But we can use this valuable tool of a personal horoscope chart that is prepared by a professional astrologer to help us figure out what makes us tick. And some of our human curiosity may be resolved.
