What is Numerology?

In a nutshell, numerology is a system which manipulates numbers in such a way as to arrive at a personal prediction or certain guidance. The symbolism in numbers determine ways that an individual can or should deal with others, appropriate emotional reactions, inner needs, obstacles to overcome, talents and strengths, and aspects of an individual’s personality.

Numerology is one of many beliefs, traditions, and systems of psychic predictions through which esoteric or mystical relationships between living things or physical objects and numbers are created. Since numerology did not have favour with the authority figures of Christianity, it was deemed inappropriate and unapproved, along with magic, other types of divination, and astrology.

Despite these purgative occurrences, the use of these sacred numbers and their spiritual significance has not faded away. The practice of numerology is still used in conservative Greek Orthodox congregations. It has been commented on in literature, mysticism, nature, and art. Biblical references and the work of Pythagoras have been compared and contrasted in scientific circles. It is also used to help people to understand themselves and others.

In recent years, there has been a remarkable resurgence of interest in numerology, as people seek to understand the significance of the information they discover.

Numerology is one of those mediums that have no clear explanation for its success. Perhaps these numbers and their manipulation thereof is a skill which was taught by God. The birthday element describes important characteristics of the personality, yet it is of least important when in comparison to the other elements. It is essentially an affirmation of the other three.
